My search continues for a new place to live. I have expanded my search to houses for rent in Calgary.
What a beautiful country Canada is. Have you ever been there? or lived there? What tips would you give to a first time visitor / potential resident of the Calgary area?
I am so excited to move to somewhere new. I will miss my friends and family of course, but hopefully when we get settled they will come for a visit. I figure the more beautiful the place, the more visitors we will have right? Then our friends and family can have a two fold vacation, and visit combined.
What sites do you use when you are looking for a new house or apartment? I like doing a combination of internet research and old fashioned circle in the newspaper and drive around the neighborhoods. It is not so easy when it comes to driving around somewhere far away, so the internet comes in real handy for that situation.
I even like just going to open houses to see the insides of houses in different neighborhoods. I love different types of interior decor and architecture. It is a great way to get a feel for a new neighborhood if nothing else.

Special Needs Child
Authored by Rickey Combs
Having a special needs child has been really hard on my wife and I. We love
our son dearly, but his autism has been difficult for us to deal with. We want
to do everything in our power to enrich our son’s life, but sometimes it feels
like an uphill battle we will never win. We still try to spend time alone
together, but as the years go on it is getting harder and harder.
Our son is hard to deal with, and we can rarely find a sitter that is willing to stay with
him for more than a few hours. Our parents don’t live close by, so that isn’t an
option either. Last time we left our son with a sitter, he escaped from the house, and we
were terrified. We found him right away, but it made us hesitant to leave him
with anyone again. After that incident we researched Alarm Security
Systems and got one installed right away. Now the door beeps when it opens
so we will know if our son tries to get out. It makes us feel better, but my
wife still watches him like a hawk when we are home.

ZOMBIES
OK I know that there has been a surge in the popularity of anything to do with zombies lately. I don't really understand it, but I am starting to fall into it whether I like it or not.
First my husband has been watching the TV series The Walking Dead for a couple of seasons. I had not seen much of it before last season, then I got hooked. Now I can not wait for the new season to start.
Now the latest addiction is Plants Versus Zombies for the DS. We got our kids DS for Christmas and now I am the one playing zombie games at every given chance lol! I like many of the new games they have like Brain Age, and Flash Focus, but I have to admit that my current fave is Plants vs. Zombies.
It is actually a fairly good game for teaching the kids strategy and hand eye coordination. I guess I will rack it up as a guilty pleasure.
Looking for a new nest
My hubby and I are trying to decide where the next chapter of our lives is going to be set in. Will it be the 'jungle" of a big city, or the wilds of a wonderland like Canada?
One thought is Edmonton Canada. When you are moving, for whatever reason, it is like starting over. You will be in a new town or new country all together. Even if it just a few blocks away from your old place, the changes can be dramatic. If you have kids you have to think about a new school perhaps. Many of us like to not be too far from a modern medical facility of some sort, at least a nice country doctor.
What are some of the things that are important to you in a neighborhood? A good school? good medical? maybe a nice parks? I hope we are somewhere where the kids will be safe and happy of course. We do like to do outdoorsy kinds of things so if there was nice hiking trails, or parks around that would definitely be a plus!
I am going to keep looking for more sites to help in my search, I will keep you posted!
Loves Christmas Journey
I had posted before about the LOVE SAGA movies. One of my readers ( Or someone that just stumbled by more likely lol), said that there was yet ANOTHER "LOVE" movie that I had not yet seen or heard. The new one is called Loves Christmas Journey and it was released 2011.
I looked it up on IMDB.COM and here is what the plot synopsis says...
While still mourning the loss of her husband and daughter, recently widowed Ellie King visits her brother Aaron Davis, a sheriff in the small town of Haddonton, and his two children during the Christmas holiday. Ellie does her best to enjoy the holidays, even making new friends with Beatrice, a local shop keeper and Deputy Strode. Settling in nicely with her brother's family, Ellie agrees to watch her niece and nephew when Aaron travels out of town to purchase adjacent land for farming. But when a corrupt attorney in town leaves a young man to blame for Mayor Wayne's barn catching fire and burning, Ellie ignores distrusting townspeople and steps in to help to prove his innocence. To her dismay, the season's festivities are threatened when Aaron goes missing. When all seems lost, Ellie not only gets the perfect holiday miracle, her brother delivered home safely on Christmas morning, but also the chance at a new life when she finds herself falling in love again.Written by Anonymous....from IMDB.com end synopsis
I am a little lost on who is who, since I have not seen the first few in awhile. I will haver to look at the names from the other movies to see where these folk fit it. It seems to be yet another nice cast thought...even Charles Shaughnessy from Days of Our Lives, or The Nanny series. He is sooo cute!
