You Want to Be My Friend?

...< But I don't even know you? I know I am not in my teens or even 20's anymore, but I am not exactly "old". I still can not seem to get some aspects of all the new social networking platforms. I think social networking is a cool invention for sure. Anything that lets you keep in touch with family or locate a long lost friend has to be a good thing right?

What I do not get is why random strangers want to be my friend all of the sudden. Friend request? why? I mean if you make a new friend in real life or even in chat room you don't just walk up and say "hey, wanna be friends?". I know I am weird, but all these friends and followers kind of baffle me.

I do love how you can link up with like minded groups such as people who work in the same field, or share the same hobby. I really like the idea of the genealogy groups that are on all the different platforms. Networking with people really helps with things like genealogy, or job hunting.

I just had to ramble about that,, I feel better now. Still want to be my friend? :o)
