Auto Transportation and The Economy

I was looking on an auto transport website to research auto shipping rates. Sometimes I help my friends sell vehicles on Ebay so I like to keep up on car shipping information. I found the chart that I have linked to here to be an interesting indicator of both the current economy and the relocation habits of people in America.

The Moving Dynamics website says that there was an overall 3 percent decrease in automotive relocations in January. This could mean that either people aren't moving as much, or that people are not buying as many vehicles as they were before. Either one is not a good reflection on the economy as the whole.

Another interesting bit of information on the chart was that they top three most popular destinations were California, Florida and Texas and that the top three origins where California, Florida and New York. It seems that people are wanting to move to or stay in a sunny climate. I wonder if that is where the jobs are?
