Another Christmas Card Choice

I found another site that has Photo Christmas Cards, now I really have a hard decision because I like the cards on this site too.

It is called ChristmasCardsDirect.com and you have two options when it comes to their photo cards. You can either order the card holder type of card and insert your own pictures in them when you receive your order, or you can upload a digital photo to the site and let them print them up for you. There are benefits to both styles, depending on what you need or want.

If you already have photos you purchased or you have a photo quality printer, you might want to use the photo holder cards. If you do not have a photo printer, or maybe you just don't have the time in this crazy season, you can just upload your photo, pick the type of card you like and let the "elves" at this site do the work for you. Either way, you end up with a lovely photo card that your family will cherish.

So now for the hardest part of this task,,, deciding on which picture my little angels is the perfect one? Looks like I am about to get lost looking through pictures, I can not think of a better way to unwind from the stress of all this holiday planning!

Time for Christmas Movies

One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to watch holiday movies. New ones, old ones, they are all fun. We have our favorites that we watch ever year, at least once but sometimes more.

Some of our standbys are Love Actually. White Christmas, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Some of the newest editions are The Holiday, and Last Holiday, they are newer movies but they are good. The movie might be all about the holidays, or it might just be set around the holidays.

My husband rented a movie for me the other night that was based on the life of painter Thomas Kinkade that was really sweet. It is a bit of a tear jerker though so beware lol. Just last night I watched Moonlight and Mistletoe on the Hallmark Channel. It was really cute. Made for TV movies always have a special feel to them , but in a good way.

Moonlight and Mistletoe was about a father raising his daughter after the death of his wife. He ran a tourist destination called SANTAVILLE. I don't want to give too much away, but it was a really cute story about family, friends and the holiday spirit. There was even a bit of blogging in it too haha! There is suppose to be another new one on tonight called Finding John Christmas that I want to see too. While I was watching the movie last night I heard about a sweepstakes the Hallmark Channel is having too called the Holiday Homecoming Celebration. You win a big catered dinner for your family and 25,000...that would make for a joyous holiday eh?

What is your favorite holiday movie?

Great Local Search

Do you like to use Citysearch.com, Yelp.com, Yellowpages.com, or Superpages.com for local search information on the web? If you do, you might want to give Local.com a try. This site have combined some of the best features of these others sites to make their local yellowpages style site even better!

For Instance I just did a search for photo stores in my area, and not only did I get the information I was looking for, but on the sides of the site I got suggestions of local restaurants with ratings right next to them, and other local points of interest. I think this would be especially helpful if you are new to an area and want to know where the best places are to go for a service or social gathering. They even give you driving directions on this site, so there is no need to do a separate directions search.

What some people might not think of though is how often we forget what great stuff there is in and around your own community. We travel to other cities or states to see the attractions there and forget about the gems hiding in our own backyard. It is like the time I was in Pennsylvania and ran into a girl from France while I was staying at a hotel. Her and her family were there for a holiday in the Poconos. I chuckled because most people I know would like to go to FRANCE. I never thought about where people that live in "cool" places want to go for vacation.

Anyway, checking out sites like local.com can remind you of how green the grass is in your own yard.

Home Unsafe Home

My husband just reminded me of a case that happened before where a SWAT team raided the house of a Maryland couple, shot their two golden retrievers and scared the crap out of the whole family.

The twist was that Cheye Calvo was the MAYOR of the town in Maryland where his house was raided. I guess the town of Berwyn Heights is in Prince George county which has a separate police force than the city. Some drug task force had been tracking a package of marijuana that was mailed to the residence of the Mayor and his wife, in his wife's name. The SWAT team busted down the front door of the house, shot the two dogs, terrified the Mayor's mother in law, and dragged the Mayor down from his bedroom at gun point.

This guy is upstairs changing, when he hears a commotion downstairs, starts to investigate and the all of the sudden finds himself at the business and of a gun, and his two beloved dogs dead in pools of their own blood. Can you imagine what was going through his mind? He is probably thinking it was a home invasion, well it was in all actuality it just happened to be by the "good guys". Mr. Calvo tried to tell the gun wielding men that he was the mayor of that city, but they did not believe him.

It would come out later that the package was one of several that were part of a scheme where people would mail the drugs to random houses, and intercept them on the front porches or what have you. This package made it inside the house, which is what led to this tragedy.

The county police in charge of this operation never bothered to contact the city officials about the investigation or the pending raid. I think if they had, someone at the local level would have recognized the names of the people involved. "Oh, there must be some mistake, that is the home of our Mayor and his family." or even if they suspected the local mayor or his wife of drug running, they still could have proceeded differently.

Even if this was a typical house belonging to another family, they did not need to burst in with guns blazing. I am all for police protecting themselves, but there has to be common sense involved. For instance these were golden retrievers not pit bulls,,,maybe you could have maced them instead. What if a child had been playing near the dogs?

Ultimately, a box of drugs is not more important that people's lives or the sanctity of the home. They could have just as easily questioned or arrested the Mayors wife when she was in her driveway, or at work etc. Someone dropped the ball on this investigation, and I hope the proper people are dealt with. And I hope that the Calvo family can one day regain a sense of calm and security in their home and community.

In the article I read, the mayors wife said a neighbor came up to her with tears in here eyes after the incident and said something like "If the police can do something like this to YOU, how can I trust them?"

Those are my thoughts too!

Have a Hybrid Driver on Your Shopping List?

A friend of ours got a hybrid vehicle this year. I was happy for them, but a little jealous too I must admit LOL. I forget which brand it was a Prius or a Honda hybrid, I am pretty sure it was a Prius. Anyway, I was trying to figure out what to get this person for Christmas.

I came across this cool site for hybrid car owners, called JuicedHybrid.com. They have put together a cool collection of items that would be useful or desirable to hybrid owners. I could get away as easy as buying a gift certificate to the site, or I can get more specific. They have everything from floor mats to cool modification chips.

If I am right, and it is a Prius our friend got, maybe we will get them this modification chip thing. I did not know until I read it on JuicedHybrids.com that they build in the ability for the Prius to run in ELECTRIC ONLY MODE up to 34 mph, but they disable it for cars sold in North America. Why in the world would they do that? I thought that was the whole idea of getting a hybrid car, to save money on gas and save the environment at the same time. It says you can enable this feature with this little doohicky they sell, and there is even a video on the site about how to install it.

I wonder if our friend even knows this feature was disabled? I bet he does not, but he will after he opens his present!

Black Friday Tragedy

Ok if i didn't need another reason to shop online, I have one now....

Some poor worker at a Walmart was trampled to death yesterday by the mass of people rushing to get in the doors. I think they even said he did not get a chance actually open the doors, but I am not sure about that part. The 34 year old man was not even a regular worker at the store, he was a temp hired for the holidays. This poor guy was probably just trying to make some extra money for his family for the holidays or something. Instead his family gets the ultimate bad news to mark this normally joyous season.

While this could be listed as just a tragic fluke accident, there is more to it than that to me. One, they should review the cameras and ID all that they can and at least give all these people probation for manslaughter, to remind them for the rest of their lives that saving 1o bucks on a DVD player is not worth someones life.

But wait it gets even more horrible...

After the store announced that they would be closing the store because of the death,,,PEOPLE KEPT SHOPPING! Oh my God, they did what?! I thought when someone first told me that...THEY KEPT SHOPPING!

1. The store should have closed immediately
2. Anyone not standing around in shock and horror should have been arrested
3. Once the announcement was made, the people that kept shopping should have been arrested for Depraved Indifference or whatever they call it.
4. Walmart should not have sold ANYTHING after that. Do not reward the shoppers with the deals that they were willing to kill and wound for.
5. Whatever money that Walmart made that day should go to the family of the guy that dies and those that were hurt trying to save him,,PERIOD.

I am so disgusted by this story, I can not come up with strong enough words.

Figuring Out How To Eliminate Debt

I have been considering debt consolidation as an option to manage our current debt situation. My husband and I have a nice collection of student and credit card debt piling up. That is another reason I have been trying to behave this shopping season and get good deals when I do purchase something.

I found this site called bills.com that has a lot of information on different debt solutions. I think our best bet would be a consolidation loan. If we did that we could pay one payment each month to one place and it would simplify the monthly bill paying quite a bit. It would also reduce our over all monthly interest rate quite a bit I am sure.

It would be nice to pay less per month and still get farther ahead in paying down the principle since more money would actually go towards the principle. I get tired of just paying the interest and making the credit companies richer.

That site also has a feature where you can ask questions that you might have called "ask Bill",,that's cute. You can also sign up for their informative news letter. After the holidays you might want to get things sorted out for the new year.

MMM The Leftover Turkey Sandwich

Ohh, my mom just brought me a "leftover" turkey sandwich. I think I look forward to the leftovers more than the main event of the dinner the day before.

Usually if I make one for myself it is just simple turkey with butter on white bread. No mayo, no toast, nothing fancy..just good. Today mom made me one with the turkey and the butter, but it also had some of her homemade stuffing on it too! I never really thought of doing that but it was very yummy.

I just saw a thing on FoodNetwork the other night about a restaurant that makes a sandwich that is inspired by Thanksgiving leftovers,, they call it the Dickens I think for Charles Dickens. I think it had Turkey of course, and stuffing, cranberry sauce and I forget what else, but it looked good too.

The sandwich also made me think about that episode of friends where Ross took his "moist maker" sandwich to work and flipping out when someone else ate it LOL. They made him go to anger management. I get pretty protective over my food too, but that was crazy LOL!

What is your favorite left over dish? Share share...

Shop Online and Avoid The Crowds

I was not in the mood this year to brave the Black Friday sales in person, but I just found this cool site that has a list of promotional code deals for Black Friday , but the list also has coupons and codes that are good for several days past Black Friday. Now this is my idea of shopping this year. I mean I still want to go to some stores in person this year. Seeing the holiday decorations and being in the crowds is part of the experience of the season, but I don't want to have to go on a big hunt for the best deals this year.

I want to either locate the deals before I head out, or buy the majority of the gifts on my list online, and then go out shopping for all the small little details like wrapping, or stocking stuffers. Then I won't get so stressed out by the whole process.

Lets see what I want to use from this site....

OOh,.. Check this out. You can get some DVD movies for 3.99 until the 29th, I can get these moccassin slippers my hubby has been wanting until Dec 23rd, ooh and this other store has 50% off books until Dec 1st. Yea I think I will be filling out the majority of my list from links on this site. There are so many stores on here, make sure you check it out before you head out. I have heard that many retailers are offering deals only to online shoppers because they know online shopping has become so popular.

Figuring Out Medications

I understand that they pulled many childrens cold medicines from the market because people were not using them right and doing more harm to their children than good, but give me a break already.

I use products as directed by my doctor and only when needed. For the medicines that are still on the shelves it is hard to know the right dosage because often it says if under 2 or under 6 on some, consult your doctor. That is great assuming you have a family doctor, or that they could be reached, but what if that is not the case? I know when I ask the doctor she caculates it by weight. They should break it down by weight on each medication for at least those over 2. I know it all depends on other health factors of the child, but either they are safe to use or they are not.

I needed cough medicine last night, and there were no stores open because of the holiday. I had some over the counter medicine that I knew what dosage was right for my younger child but not for my older kids. So I was stuck with the choice of letting my daughter cough all night, or guess at a dosage.

I found this website that has a basic chart of some of the popular medicines by age, but I still want to find one by weight. Some people don't even believe cold medicines help kids, but I don't find that to be the case.

I still like to use home remedies and homeopathic medicines when possible, but sometimes honeyed tea and chicken soup can only do so much. What is yoru favorite thing for making your kids feel better when they are sick?

I still remember my grandma freezing lemonade and crushing it in a bowl for me when I was sick,,,wow I have not thought of that in ages.

I Love Invitations and Stationery

I love picking out invitations, whether it is holiday invitations or some other occasion. Sometimes the designing or picking of the invitations for a party or holiday are just as much fun as the special occasion itself to me.

There is something so pleasurable about picking the right paper, the right layout, the perfect photo or even a cute font. It is the same with stationary too. Something as simple as a pretty monogram at the top of a crisp sheet of paper can make a letter so special. I especially like to choose papers that are linen or a linen blend for important letters or resumes. I think the way the paper feels in someones hand is something they notice subconsciously if nothing else. The remember that you sent something unique.

I was at a site called CreationsbyLeslie.com, and they have so many lovely things to choose from that I can not decide what to get for our holiday card. I have narrowed it down to two choices, and I want you to help me decide. I want to get photo card with my kids on it, but which of these two designs do you like better? Once I get the card picked out, then I have to pick one of their many cute fonts...LOL

Ugliest State Quarter?

I guess there was a vote about which state quarter was the least favorite of the bunch. I wonder why people did not like it. It shows a Peregrine falcon and a state map.

I think Peregrines are beautiful, intelligent birds. They are very skilled hunters too boot. It is just a majestic as a bald eagle, if not more so. I have not looked at all the state quarters myself, so I don't know which ones I would choose for my favorite or least favorite. Do you have a favorite?

If you click here you can read the rest of the list of least favorite quarters and decide for yourself.

Software To Help You Manage

I just found a site that creates project software. It is this company called Atlantic Global, and the program sounds awesome.

This software allows you to track almost every phase and element of a project. They have web based time sheet entry, expense management, project planning capabilities and more. They even have what they call resource management that allows you to plan for the future needs of your project.

My husband is going in to construction management. I wonder if this program would apply to his field. It sounds like it would be perfect to me. I will have to show him the site and have him check it out. I know he has to take computer classes with his degree, maybe this type of program is what they already use. It sounds like it would take a lot of the hassle out of managing any type of project or work force.

Why BLACK Friday?

I was watching all the TV ads for the sales that are going on tomorrow and a thought struck me. Why do they call Black Friday, BLACK Friday? Why not GOLD Friday, or GREEN Friday?

It could be gold because it is like finding treasure, or saving some of your gold because the deals save you money. Then I thought green for the same reason, you will be saving your "green". I don't know why I think these things, but I do.

I came up with another theory, that maybe they call it Black Friday because it puts the retailers in the "black". Isn't that what they call it when you are in the profit zone with your finances? I think they say in the RED when you owe money.

Maybe I will look it up and see if I am right? What ever they call it, are you brave enough to join the throngs of people tomorrow morning? I want to go, but I am so wiped out from today that I don't think I could get up at 4:00 am to get to the stores by 5:00 am anyway. To me if you are going to do it, you have to be there before the doors open. If you go, GOOD LUCK!

Another Possible Relocation Area..Virginia!

Another area that my husband and I have considered moving is Virginia. I did a couple of internet searches for Virginia home builders. If you put in the phrase or phrases like Richmond new homes or new home Virginia, one of the sites you will come across is HuntHomes.com. So I looked around there a little.

If you could move anywhere in the country, or out of the country for that matter, where would you go? Our ultimate dream is to live in Ireland and maybe open a restaurant, but who knows if that will ever happen. It is nice to dream though. With the internet at my fingertips, I can look up any place and dream about what it would be like to live there. I have read som many books that have had Ireland as a backdrop, it seems so wonderful. I know it would not be as idyllic as a story, but it has to be at least a little wonderful, don't you think?

Oh, back to Virginia to do more research on that area. I think I told you I get lost in my internet searches and in real life didn't I? Well at least I warned you LOL. Check back and see where I end up!

Food Overload

Is it redundant to watch the FOODNETWORK while you are cooking your butt off for Thanksgiving? By tomorrow I may well be tired of looking at food all together...Nah probably not, but I keep trying to convince myself. LOL!

Maybe if I quit watching food on tv, I would not get these great ideas I want to try out. Let me know how your family feast goes tomorrow...or today I guess it would be. I have to hit the hay, other family members are cranky that I am up so late on the computer...arg.

They were not upset when I was cooking! oh well.happy turkey day!

South Carolina or Bust

We are going to visit family in the Carolinas over the holidays. I was looking stuff up on the area for our trip and came across this site with information on Myrtle Beach Realtors and Raleigh Realtors. well it was actually through a site called clicksmart.com where you can look up professionals in all sorts of categories.

They can help you find not only Realtors in Raleigh, but wedding planners, oooh massage therapists.. whatever type of professional you are looking for. This got me off of planning our trip, to planning our move we want to make in a couple of years. We are enduring a few more winters before we head that way, but we will get there. This happens to me quite often in life or on the net. I start to do one thing and end up on a totally different task.

I will have to keep this site in mind for future reference though.

Is It Time To Eat Yet?

Oh the smells of the Thanksgiving meal in progress. I love it, but it drives me crazy at the same time. My family and I always joke, that food should not have a smell until it is done. It is pure torture sometimes. Our poor dog is psycho by the end of the day when you are cooking something that takes awhile, like a turkey or a roast.

That crazy dog will pace from the kitchen to the dining room and back most of the day, maybe stopping to make sure nothing that is making that yummy smell is going to pop out of the oven or anything lol. She is so happy when she finally gets some sort of morsel later in the day.

Of course by the end of all that cooking, I am pacing around for scraps too! It it ready yet?

Holiday Party Planning

I know Thanksgiving is not even over yet, but I am planning Christmas in my head. If you are looking for holiday party ideas like I am try celebrations.com, They have all sorts of awesome ideas there.

They not only have decorating ideas, but ideas for Christmas Party Games as well. I have gone to this site before for other occasions. Ooh one of the ideas they have on the home page, is a tree trimming party. I have thought of that one before, but have never held one. Hmmm, since your holiday guests usually want to bring something anyway, this would be a neat party to have because they could each bring an ornament or two. It wouldn't have to cost much, so the people on my guest list that are on a tight budget like me would not feel like they had to go buy something very expensive at all...heck they could even make an ornament.

I love this site, it gives me so many good ideas. I can also buy some lovely items to make the party perfect! AHA,, I just read "adorn candles with..." as ACORN candles with.... LOL They weren't acorn candles, but they were definitely pretty! I think I might use the idea for chair decoration that I saw on there too. They took a red ribbon and some pine cones and spruce to make a chair decoration. Simple, but very lovely!

TURDUCKEN

OK, I looked it up, it is spelled TUR DUCK EN. I guess that makes sense TURkey, DUCK, hEN.

I think we first heard of them on the Emeril Lagasse show, but it has been awhile so I am not too sure. I am sure there are recipes all over the net, but I think for the first go round we should buy one and try it. That way we will know two things,,..

1. What one done right tastes like

2. If we like it well enough to go to all that trouble

I am not sure if this is the site we found before, but they have some good looking food there. Go to www.cajun-shop.com and get some yummy ideas for next year,,,or maybe for Christmas dinner. If you get one before I do though. you have to come back here and let me know how it was!

More Health and Beauty Research

I had heard about Thermage and thought I would do some more research on it. I came across a site similar to the one I mentioned for the diet information. It is called BeautifulReview.com, and they have reviews on beauty and skin products.

I am really thinking this is the year for me to get myself back into shape inside and out. I want to lose weight, detox, whiten my teeth, tighten my skin the whole nine yards. Since I can not get on one of those make over shows, I guess I am going to have to do it all myself.

It says that the target age range for Thermage procedures is 35 - 60. I am not going to tell you where I land in that range, but I am in there somewhere. After 3 kids, and life in general I could use a good over haul of my chassis.

Are You Ready For TurkeyDay?

GOBBLE GOBBLE!

Are you all ready for your Thanksgiving feast? My mom and I are tag teaming between the kids and the kitchen as we speak. Usually I am more of the behind the scenes, support type person. I cleaned the kitchen, mom starts all the main dishes.

I may help do some chopping, peeling, mixing, etc...no stuffing for me please. I mean sure I will EAT the stuffing, but I really want no part in STUFFING THE BIRD lol! I just do not have the stomach for it. I tend to be the baker in the family anyway. Somehow I got out a baking this year though.

What are your family traditions? We usually do all the average, yummy fare. We have been mixing it up a bit here and there. Last year my husband deep fried some turkey breast, that was very good! One year we are going to do a whole turkey in a fryer. We hope to order a Turduken ,,Turduckhen? I am not sure of the spelling, but it is when you stuff a chicken in a duck, and then stuff that into a Turkey. We found this place once where you could order them with all sorts of unusual stuffings too, like seafood stuffing..YUM! I will have to find a picture of one to show you.

Happy THANKSGIVING To all!

Sensational Diet Information

If you are like me, you are always looking for the newest, or "easiest", best way to lose wieght. There are so many pills, potions, and programs out there, it is easy to get lost. I found this website called Sensational.com that reviews all the hot new diet solutions on the market today.

There is one on there called Zalestrim. Not only is it suppose to help you lose weight, but it is also supposed to increase your bust size and your libido. OH MY! If that is true I can just get a bottle of these for my husband for Christmas,,,,For me to take of course LOL!

What I was most interested in on the site was the detox section. I really would like to do a detoxifcation of some sort. I am going to go back there and look around, see what they say about the different detox programs. Maybe I will get one for the new year. Start out all clean inside, and feel better this year?

A Fun Spin On Meatloaf

Hey, do you like making meatloaf for your family because it is good, and nutritious and all that? Well I found this article here on how to make a "MEATLOAF CAKE".

It is on a site called eHow. That is really a cool site. You can search for info on how to do just about anything. Don't see what you are looking for, request an article. Have advice to give on how to do something? Write an article. You can even make money from your articles if they become popular.

That is a neat little way to make some extra money from home!

Cow Town

Ok, this blog is not dedicated to cows or anything, I just liked the theme. i could not pass up on this story I saw on the web though...

It says that Hereford, Texas is sometimes called ,"The Saudi Arabia of cattle manure," by some in the region. Why? Because in this town of roughly 14,500 residents, they have 3.5 MILLION meat and dairy cows within a 100 mile radius of the city.

I thought I had alot of BS surrounding me! LOL Yikes. It made it to a list put together by a writer wanting to warn people of where NOT to go on their vacations or something. Yea, thanks for the heads up buddy. I bet is smells especially good in the summer..ick!

You can check out the rest of the list here.

OK What About This New Template

Well it is really a background and header not really a whole template...but I think it will work for now. I have other visions in my head, like maybe having my dad draw me up a cute little cartoon cow or something...I dunno.

I am open to suggestions,,,that is constructive criticism,,,LOL be nice!

California Wild Fires

My prayers go out to those battling the California wildfires. Both the residents and the actual fire fighters themselves. I heard on the radio the other day that the flames were so hot, it was melting cars and other metal objects,,, now THAT is hot!

If you want to read more on the fires you can click here for an article on it. I didn't get to read the whole thing, but I hardly ever get to finish thing like articles, hot food, a thought! LOL..sorry I did not mean to joke around when writing about something so serious, I guess it is how I deal with stressful topics.

God Speed!

PUPPY CAM

Now why did I not think of that!? LOL I saw a thing on the news today where these guys have a live webcam on a box of puppies.... Puppy Cam they call it. I missed most of the segment because of my noisy kids, but I think they said they have had like a million hits on the site.

I do not know if this is the actual site or not, but I think this is the cam here. It is amazing how the simplest of things can be so popular. Most people just want a simple escape from the craziness of their day. I know I enjoy stuff like that....so again, Why didn't I think of that!? LOL

Maybe the momma has them right now, because I do not see any puppies in the box, but I think those are the same dog toys I saw in the box this morning.

Check Out Generator Blog

I was stuck for writing ideas the other day so I typed in "idea generator" in a search. I can across the GENERATOR BLOG. They do not sell the type of generators that give you power, it is an awesome blog where you can find all those cool little program generators that make thing like the fake beer labels, videos, or the sticky note like I made here.

There was a cool word cloud one, but I did not figure it out completely yet. There are things on there I never new existed...you really aught to....

Free Samples,,YUM

I love shopping at Sam's Club, I usually spend too much money when I go, but that is another story. It is especially fun to go there when they are giving out samples of food. Most weekends you will see at least 2 or 3 people giving out treats on toothpicks.

Well I just heard on the radio that the weekend of the 21st I think it is, they are having a whole sampling event, all weekend long. I hope I remember to go, I imagine it is at all Sam's locations, but check before you head out.

My kids get a kick out of eating anything off a toothpick, or those little sampling cups. Little doled out morsels of food always seem to taste better..why is that? lol

Black Friday

I can not wait for Black Friday, how about you? We are hoping to maybe get a laptop dirt cheap, or maybe a dvd/vhs combo for the kids' room.

I figured if those little eee laptop things can be found for 299 retail, than maybe someone will be crazy enough to have them for like 100 on Black Friday. Wouldn't that be awesome! It always depends on what the deal is on what type of item whether I get up super early. If someone posts an ad for laptops or something for 100 I will get there before dawn, eh maybe I will get there at 2 in the morning if they are that cheap LOL.

What would make you camp out on a cold, hard sidewalk? A Wii, a TV, computer? I did the long line thing when the new xbox came out I think it was...who can remember eh? If you decide to brave the crowds I wish you the best of luck!

The Gas Is Falling, The Gas Is Falling

I feel like chicken little, but I am so happy I can not see straight. I saw gas today for 1.89, I did not think we would ever see it for less than 2.00 again..woohoo!

I have heard speculation on the radio that the oil controlling countries lowered prices because they don't have faith in our economy or some such nonsense. Where have they been?! LOL! I love this country and all that, but we have been in a economical mess for quite awhile. It cracks me up that it took the collapse of the banks and such for D.C. to admit there was a problem.

Helllooooo... if you want my vote, pay attention to what I am going through. Help me keep my family fed and safe and I will be a happy constituent.

George Carlin In More Than Seven Words

I was saddened when I heard that George Carlin passed away. then I heard on the radio that he was getting the Mark Twain prize for his achievements in comedy.

While I am glad he is getting the award, it always makes me a little frustrated when someone is honored AFTER their death. I felt better later on in the radio segment when they said that Mr. Carlin new he was getting the award, that makes me feel better about it. He was a funny, funny man and I imagine he will be missed by many people.

Try and remember to honor and celebrate the people you love and respect now, because you never know when they might be gone.

A New Era

Well, Barack Obama is our next president. No matter how I feel about a democrat winning, it is a historic time for our country. My friend said that it proves the sexism is stronger than racism LOL!

I wish him the best, and I hope the country calms down and gets back on its collective feet real soon. I don't really see the politicians being able to get over themselves fast enough for a quick change. I guess we will see how this four years goes. I know it will have a large bearing on whether he gets re-elected or a Republican gets the next four years in 2012.

Some people think Sara Palin is going to run in 2012. If she does and she wins, maybe it will put the talk of her ruining McCain's campaign. I am getting ahead of myself a little bit. Let's just get through the next four.

Good luck to our new president, and to us all!

VOTE VOTE VOTE

With all the craziness of late, we have to remember that is is important to vote.

It does not matter really if you are black, white, male, female, rich or poor, just vote. Don't be afraid to vote for one of the other candidates running, because you think your "vote will be wasted". If we always think this way, then we will always be "stuck" with picking between only two candidates. If we vote how we truly feel, maybe we can shake things up a bit and make it more viable for an independent, or a green party candidate or whatever to win.
