Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the temperature, the colors, the scent of the fall leaves. We love going on fall hikes, making crafts, carving pumpkins.
What is your favorite time of the year and why?
I am looking forward to the appearance of chestnuts in the stores..yum.
I would love to get lost down a winding road like this, find a trail and hike all day. I love to hear the crunch of the leaves under foot, and don't forget to look up. I have to remind myself sometimes to look up at things, but the view under a canopy of trees is awesome!
I got this photo from photobucket.com. I think photo sites are not only useful, but they can be a relaxing place to browse around at beautiful images.

Warning Labels For Parents
If you are like me, when you watch TV or movies with your children you try and make informed decisions. You try and pick something that does not have bad language, violence, sex, etc, but what about emotional trama?! I am kinda kidding, I mean I am tired of labels for every thing, but let me explain.
What I am referring to is like when you watch a movie with your kids that you worked hard to pick out, and you don't realize that it is a tear jerker. We have been caught off guard by so many movies that ended with us consoling our little girls through a flood of tears. Like the time we rented The Last Mimsy, (think ET) it was an awesome movie, but we did not realize that it had an emotional ending. I think watching movies are a good way for little ones to learn about different emotions and how to deal with them, I would just like some warning first.
Our one daughter cried at the end of Beauty and the Beast because the beast disappeared when he turned back into a human,.,,,she wanted the Beast back. Who knew that would make a kid cry, so there probably couldn't have been a warning for that one anyway LOL. We lucked out the time we were going to make our oldest daughters first trip to the movie theater to see Bridge to Tarabithia. We ended up going by ourselves first, and boy are we glad we did, it had a sad ending that we did not know about. The whole theater was sniffling and sucking back tears, that's all you could hear in the darkness of the theater, which was mostly populated by adults! We were all messed up! LOL It made you want to go home and hug your kids.

Parenting
I just had my kids at the park to play. The always hope there will be other kids there, but you never know. Heaven forbid they play nicely with each other lol! We were there for maybe 15 mninutes when I noticed this little girl walking towards the play area. I grin at her and looked in the direction she had come from expecting to see a parent trailing after her,,,,but none was there.
I started scanning the park to see who brought her, certainly there had to be SOMEONE. My eyes finally landed on a person with a stroller all the way on the other side of the playground. This person appeared to be a woman by the size of her frame, but that is how far away they were, far enough that I was guessing. This person had there dog off the leash and was letting them run on that side of the field, while they yakked on their cell phone.
Now I know I tend to be a little up tight especially where my kids are concerned, but this was ridiculous to me. The MAY have been able to see this little girl from where they were, maybe, but there is no way that if someone decided to grad her, that her mom would have been able to get to her fast enough to do anything about it.
It is so scary that it only takes a split second for some loon to snatch a kid, but it is a cold, hard reality. I would rather be too cautious than regret it later. I am going to try and find a missin child update banner I saw somewhere to put on my blog, but until I find that why not stop by the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children at MissingKids.com. You never know, you might spot someone you recognize and be able to help reunite a family. We can not find what we do not look for.
You can even register to have Amber Alerts sent right to your cell phone buy going to http://www.wirelessamberalerts.org/

A Point To Ponder
I read one of those provacative questions on a website that said " Is it better to be honest, or loyal?"
That is an interesting question, are the two mutually exclusive? Maybe they are. You could be a loyal friend and not want to be honest about some things like how an outfit looks, but can you keep a secret about something big and still be considered loyal?
I hate being lied to myself, as do most people I imagine. Where is the line between tact and a lie? How honest are you with the people in your life? I prefer honesty always, because what I do not know,or what I am left to imagine on my own is usually way worse than the actual facts.
So I guess if my spouse were cheating on me, or I was going to get fired, you know something big, I would want to know for sure. And I really do want to know if something looks good on me or not, but just don't be mean about it LOL. You can says something like, it is not my favorite thing on you, instead of OMG you aren't wearing THAT are you!? LOL
